Nanny and Grandad come to stay

Nanny and Grandad came up to visit us all and have a second Christmas celebration. They helped Mummy and Daddy a lot because apparently having me around takes a little bit of getting used to. Can’t see the difficulty myself! Here I am having a little bit of awake time with Grandad.

My First Christmas

This came round pretty quickly for me and as you can see, I was not really that impressed - I did more sleeping than most. We spent the festive season at Grandma and Grandad’s, which was very nice. All the Finnetts were there.

Home Coming

Mummy and Daddy brought me home on 22 December – in time for Xmas. This is the beginning of my love hate relationship with my Moses basket…..

Hello Mum

Mummy's a bit sore from the c-section, but she's over the moon that I've arrived. Here's one of our first photos together. We're getting along just fine - even if Mummy doesn't really know what she's doing yet!

Hey world, here I am!

Well, I finally arrived at 12:58pm on Monday 18th December. Mummy went into labour at about 2am that day and I was finally delivered by c-section at lunchtime. The first thing I did was gave a little cry to let Mummy and Daddy know I was ok and then I widdled on the midwife!! Mummy and Daddy were overjoyed and said I was the most perfect little man they had ever seen. I think they might be bias - I am a good looking chap though. What do you think?

I'm not being rude but........

.....how fat is my Mummy getting?? Here she is ready to go out to dinner for Will's 30th birthday (happy birthday Will!) I think she's already had quite enough to eat! Only kidding. That's me taking up all that room and expanding Mummy's belly. Mummy and Daddy have been busy preparing for my arrival; washing my clothes and bedding, buying me lots of nice things. Mummy is on maternity leave and is doing something she calls

Mummy's cousin had a little girl today. She's call Mia Serew. All is well, and she is very pretty - I've seen the photos! Congratulations to her Mummy Vicky, Daddy John and her Big Sister Betsie- Ella. I can't wait to meet them all!

When will I be famous??

Mummy was once given a fortune cookie which said she would be the mother of a famous child - no pressure then! Well, it must be true because I have had my portrait done and only famous people have that done! As you can see it is a picture of me inside Mummy's tummy. Mummy is with cousins Ben and Danny. Ben drew the picture and I am sure you'll agree he is already a very talented artist....

Scary Parents!

Cousin Ben had a Halloween party which was lots of fun. Mummy and Daddy decided to dress up (at least I hope this is not how they normally dress - how embarassing if it is!) Here they are with Cousin Ben....

My Nursery

Mummy and Daddy have very kindly done up my nursery for when I am a bit older. As you can see it's a nice bright yellow with a jungle/animal theme. I've got lots of lovely cuddly toys in my cot already! Thanks everyone. Here's a photo of Mummy next to the cot.....

What News?

Mummy is getting even bigger as I am happily growing in her tummy. Her waist is now a whopping 41 inches and she's put on a stone and a half. She is blaming this on me, but I know better......! Her favourite game at the moment is guess the body part as I move around - she's not very good at it yet! What else has happened? Well, my friend Maddy was born. She was supposed to be born on 5 November, but made an appearance on 28 September! All is well and I have seen some photos on her website - she's very pretty. Congratulations to her Mummy (Claire) and Daddy (Phil). I can't wait to meet her, but Mummy insists I stay where I am until December! We popped round to Unlce Neil's and Aunty Lisa's to watch the football and stayed for dinner. Just before we left, cousin Ben sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to me - It was very nice and made me very sleepy Zzzzzzzz. The next day, I went to cousin Danny's 1st Birthday party with Mummy, Daddy, Grandma and Grandad. It was lots of fun - there was lots of food for Mummy to eat (see the weight comment earlier). Cousin Danny and his cousin Max enjoyed playing with Danny's new toys. The bonus was, Mummy and Daddy came back with some more goodies for me from Uncle Keith and Aunty Jo!!

How fat is my Mummy!

You would think all that running around preparing for my arrival had made Mummy skinny, but no. Here she is last week when I was 24 weeks old. I am making her a little bit tubby, oh, and I've stolen her belly button - Tee Hee!

What a handyman!

Here's Daddy with the finished product! On top are the toys Nanny and Grandad have bought me. Lots of people have bought me things, including a nice cosy sleeping bag from my Grandma and Grandad Finnett, a teddy bear from my Uncle Keith, Aunty Jo and Cousin Danny, a toy cow for my pram from my Aunty Kim and most recently, a Thomas the Tank Engine ball from my Cousin Ben. Thank you everyone, I'm a lucky baby!

Preparing for my arrival

I've just realised that I've not told you when I'm arriving yet, how rude of me. Well, I am due around the 10 December. If I'm late, it will make Mummy and Daddy's Christmas very interesting! On the w/end of 18 August, Nanny and Grandad came up to vist me from Portsmouth. They are very excited about having another grandchild and brought up all the lovely presents they have bought me, which include a cuddly bunny and a penguin with a little baby. Mummy and Daddy are busy preparing for my arrival although it seems like ages away. I'm quite happy where I am for now, but they have bought my nursery furniture and a moses basket for me to sleep in when I first arrive. Here's Daddy making some of my furniture up...

Smile please

Mummy and Daddy took me for some more photos - something they called my 20 week scan. Everything seems to be in the right place and they even got to keep one of the photos of me. I'm getting bigger......

I kicked Daddy!

Not normally something to be proud of, but around the 21st July, about a month after Mummy felt my first movements, Daddy felt me kick when he put his hand on Mummy's tummy. It wasn't too long after that that I was actually making Mummy's belly move! She loves it!

My first holiday

I was lucky enough to go on holiday very early on - Mummy and Daddy went to the lakes the weekend they found out about me. I also went on my first holiday abroad with my immediate Finnett family in June when I was 16 weeks old. Mummy was over her sickness (bar a couple of episodes early in the holiday) so we all had a great time. We went on a cruise to Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Holland and Belgium. Mummy thinks she first felt me move on the way to the ship on 23rd June, but she definitely felt me move on 29th June whilst we were in Akureyri in Icleand. Cousin Danny was on Mummy's lap and it was a little bit uncomfortable so I gave them a friendly nudge! Here are Mummy and Daddy all dressed up on the cruise. I don't think they scrub up bad...... If you look closely, you can see I am already making a bump!

Hi Everyone

My name is Baby Finnett - Welcome to my Baby Blog. Mummy and Daddy call me Peanut because I was roughly the size of a peanut when they found out about me. They found out on the evening of Thursday 6th April. Daddy was excited but really tired. Mummy was so excited she had trouble sleeping that night - little does she know there are many sleepless nights ahead! The changes to Mummy's body made her very sick for a while, but she said it was all worth it when Mummy and Daddy went for their first scan on 1st June. They were both very excited to see me (Mummy got a bit teary!) I was wiggling about a lot, but Mummy couldn't feel me at that stage. Attached is one of my first photos. I think you'll agree I'm quite a looker!
